Ted Diggle, the Innkeeper, has a BA and an MA in education, attended Cornell University for Hotel and Restaurant Management, and holds a certificate issued by The American Food Safety Institute for the safety in handling food. He is a former Food Service Manager at Towson State University just outside of Baltimore, Maryland. Before purchasing the 1818 Colonial house back in 1998 and totally restoring it, he was a kitchen manager for fourteen and a half years in charge of the hiring, training, purchasing, food safety handling, food quality control, and inventory.
He enjoys biking, camping, gardening, interior decorating, an gourmet cooking on his Professional Viking Range at the Inn.
On June 3rd, 2008 Ted Diggle will be presented by The Cape Cod Canal Region of Commerce/THE SCORE AWARD "The Build A Better Mousetrap Award" at its 15th annual Awards Breakfast at The Old Yarmouth Inn. SCORE is a resource partner with the United States Small Business Association. The Award is recognition for growing a business that has not only survived the first 5 years (Aaron Burbank's Windfall House has been hosting guests for 10 years now) when many businesses fail but also has become a recognized member of the Cape Cod Canal Region business community.

- Since upon opening the Inn in 1999, Ted has now "graduated" over the years as being one of the oldest Bed and Breakfast established in Sandwich owned and operated by the same owner since it opened it's doors to travelers from over 40 different countries around the world.

- Since first opening, a winner of the Christmas in Sandwich/Holly Days in Sandwich Christmas Door Decoration Contest using only fresh fruit and natural greens. (Nothing artificial here)
- The Canal Region Chamber of Commerce commissioned artist Karen Francis Grey to paint an original portrait of the award winning Christmas front door which was then sent out to a card company for Christmas cards to be printed and distributed for sale.
- Each year at Christmas time the Inn opens it's doors to the annual Christmas Home Tour often seeing 500+ people when the Inn is full decorated for Christmas including all guest rooms and six Christmas Trees.
